At Movement Medicine we strive to be on top of our game when it comes to providing the best care to our clients.
Our objective is to learn from innovators and pioneers of various disciplines to distill that knowledge to you. Our motto is:
Dr. Gyimesi has been a practicing Chiropractor in the Philadelphia and Main Line region for over 10 years now. It has been a dream of his to take his experience to create an environment where client care is first. This is done by arming the clients with the tools they need to obtain their goals through education, empowerment, and accountability.
Dr. Gyimesi first entered the field of chiropractic as a patient, after enduring sports injuries related to 15 years of playing soccer along with competitive long distance running. He attributes much of his performance accolades in collegiate Track and Field and Cross-Country running to improvements he made through chiropractic treatment.
Originally from Camp Hill, Pa, Dr. Joel Gyimesi completed his undergraduate training at Bloomsburg University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He went on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree, as well as a Master's (MS) degree in Sports Science and Rehabilitation, from Logan College of Chiropractic located outside Saint Louis, Missouri.
During Dr. Gyimesi's clinical training at the Biofreeze Sports and Rehabilitation Center at Logan University, he had the opportunity to work with both competitive athletes and the general public who were seeking a fundamental approach to address acute and chronic issues. As part of obtaining his advanced degree in Sports Science and Rehabilitation, he completed an extensive internship in Chicago, IL with the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks chiropractor, where he was able to fine tune his rehab skills with a diverse population of athletes. Dr. Gyimesi believes everyone is an athlete in his or her own right, meaning that "whichever activity my client enjoys, I'm going to make sure he or she can enjoy that activity pain free and improve his or her personal performance".
Dr. Gyimesi has obtained the postgraduate designations of Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician® (CCSP®) and International Chiropractic Sport Physician by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians™ and the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic. Both the CCSP® and ICCSP certifications require the doctor to attend an extensive postgraduate program. This instruction is specific to physical fitness and the evaluation and treatment of injuries encountered in sports. Following the completion of these programs, the doctor must then take and successfully pass two comprehensive written board examinations.

In his spare time, Dr. Gyimesi enjoys long distance running (especially in the fall!), Rucking (Check it out! GoRuck.com), training at Warhorse Barbell Club, hunting for a good cup of coffee (any good recommendations?) with his wife Emily, listening to music, collecting vinyl, and hanging out with his dogs Philly and LuLu.
Just as Joel works to leave his clients better than when they came to him, his feelings are the same towards his community. Whether it’s serving at his church, Epic Church, or helping to fight food insecurity by volunteering with ForPhilly.com, it’s an important part of Joel’s life and an important initiative for Movement Medicine to support the Philly community.
